The Swissalpine Marathon and the Swiss Irontrail will be merged in 2017 and will take place under the new umbrella brand Swissalpine.

The new running festival will be held from 28th to 30th July with highlights from both events (addiitonal a prologue on 23rd July 2017). With the merger, the individual races could also be further refined and will take place in three running series. These hvae different charscteristics so there is something for everyone - whether they are ultra-, mountain-, trail-, hobby runners or a family, everyone will find their suitable race in the new program.

These events are the utimate Swiss mountain running event. It stands for emotion, out­ standing performance and beautiful scenery. Runners and walkers choose their discipline from different categories. The race track leads over totally 220 km and reaches altitude differences up to 2600 m. The event takes place in the world famous areas of Davos, Klosters, Bergün, St. Moritz, Lenzerheide, Arosa, Samedan and Filisur, and allows runners to experience the mountains in a different way!

SATURDAY 22 JUL 2017

Arrive at Zurich Airport (on own flights - there are many flights into Zurich from Singapore and Asia and it is a major hub for International flights
from most countries) - Transfer to Davos by Rail (3hrs)
Join us at 4.30pm for a warm-up run around the Davos Lake and then in for dinner at the hotel (if on half board)

 

SUNDAY 23 JUL 2017

Acclimatisation runs in the Dischma Valley. Afternoon - hike on one of the event routes (to be advised)

 

MONDAY 24 JUL 2017

Walk over the Sertig Pass on the K78/K47 route (2,700m - 16km, 5 to 6 hrs - demanding hike not suitable for children)

 

TUESDAY 25 JUL 2017

Run around the lake
Day at leisure, maybe enjoy a walk in the mountains, go to the swimming pool or visit the summer tabogan run in nearby Schatzalp
7pm Open races around the lake (1km for young children, 4km for older kids and 4 or 8km choice for adults) - enter on the day SF5

 

WEDNESDAY 26 JUL 2017

Run around the lake
Easy walk through Landwasser gorge from Monstien Station to Wiesen Station (restaurant for refreshments) - 5km - extend the walk to Filisur to make a
longer walk crossing the famous Viaduct into the Albula Valley (10km in total)
Afternoon run on the final section of the K78 route.

 

THURSDAY 27 JUL 2017

Run around the lake
Take bus to Sertig-Sand - gently down hill walk  of approx. 6km back to Clavadel on the final mountain section of the K78/K47 route
Bus back to Davos and race registration at the Congress Centre
Afternoon run around the Arosa route.

 

FRIDAY 28 JUL 2017

Swiss Irontrail events (T214: Starts at Davos at 04:00 on Friday / Finish at Davos at 18:00 on Sunday) & (T133: Starts at St. Moritz at 22:00 on Friday / Finish at Davos at 18:00 on Sunday). Children's races (Starts at Davos at 16:00 / Finish at Davos at 17:30) and pasta party.

 

SATURDAY 29 JUL 2017

Swissalpine Marathon events (K78: Starts at Davos at 07:00 / Finish at Davos at 20:00), (K47: Starts at Davos at 10:00 / Finish at Davos at 20:00), (K36: Starts at Bergun at 11:00 / Finish at Davos at 20:00), (K31: Starts at Davos at 07:00 / Finish at Filisur at 12:30), and (K23: Starts at Klosters at 09:30 / Finish at Davos at 14:30). Swiss Trail events (L43: Starts at Lenzerheide at 21:30 on Saturday / Finish at Davos at 18:00 on Sunday)
