The marathon course at TOKYO MARATHON 2027 symbolises the past, present and the future of Tokyo. The race starts in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and ends at the Tokyo Station/Gyoko-dori Ave. The city race covers the different districts of Tokyo – Shinjuku, Suidobashi, Kanda, Nihombashi, Asakusa Kaminarimon Gate, Ryogoku, Monzen-nakacho, Ginza, Tamachi, Hibiya and Tokyo Station/Gyoko-dori Ave. We will see the packed crowd of supporters in front of Tokyo’s oldest temple, Senso-ji, in Asakusa, catch a glimpse of the Tokyo Tower, and feel the positive energy of the volunteers & supporters throughout the whole marathon route. This race course is generally flat and fast, and the marathon will finish next to the Imperial Palace. At the 2024 race, the winner of the Men's race, Benson Kriputo from Kenya set the course record with a time of 2:02:16.
